Has been posted. My friend Chip and I discuss the idea of GM re-issuing the 69′ Camaro as a brand new vehicle (69′ on the outside) with a modern chassis, drive train, air bags, etc. We also breifly discuss the “Barret Jackson Effect”. So I’m fairly convinced that I’m not a complete jerk by thinking that a base model car being restored and then cloned/tribute to a rare car, then sold for a $50k or more profit, causing all muscle cars in junked, decent, and/or restored condition to spike upwards and out of the reach of the rest of the general public.

Spy photos of the new ‘08 Dodge Challenger are available for your perusal on Jalopnik.com.
Normally I would have photos here, but I’m not a jerk. Or am I? :)

The photos are not from the usual car paparazzi, but from a student driving home from school. There are two pictures, on the site, and some other promotional photos as well. Just thought I would mention it, as the Challenger is THE car that GM and Ford should be taking notes from. When you want to properly bring a classic back, this is one way to do it. the way the 2009 Camaro sits, I see myself buying one, I really don’t.

The second way (the way I would do it) would be to re-open the Camaro/Firebird GM plant, retool for the 2009 ‘69 Camaro. You read it correctly. That’s what I would do. I would set up the factory to build brand new 1969 Camaros.

Am I an idiot. Well, you might have something there as I have no clue what the repercussions it would have, however, I know that I would buy one.

Take a look at what YearOne did with the Bandit edition Trans Ams. Completely restored 77 and 79 TA’s, modernized.

Key word, “MODERNIZED”. Think about that, an old classic made new, and with all the safety features of current vehicles.

Now YearOne is making a limited run of these cars which (in my opinion) may have something to do with the “base model” costing $129,900.

Now, if GM were to shoot for cranking out 3000 or more, then the car would be more affordable for everyone.

Your thoughts? Comments welcome.

*****UPDATE*****

I have contacted Podshow.com for them to redirect the feeds they have the old feeds sent to Feedburner. This means anyone that subscribed to the feed in the iTunes music store or on Podshow.com’s site, you’re about to be redirected to Feedburner. :)

All this does is send all your requests to feedburner, which then come here to my website. As I’ve mentioned before, I pay for this site and the bandwidth of 2TB per month, and I’ve never used 1% of it. That is about to change.
