Anyone who has been keeping up with project T/A knows that the transmission being installed is GM’s 200R4.  Why not a TH350, TH400, or TH700?
Well, the 200R4 was the transmission featured in the Buick Grand National, and we all know that was one heck of an engine.

So was with a friend of mine who has a 69′ Camaro didn’t want to ‘drive’ his car because of crummy gas mileage.  Well, the TH350 he had + the gear ratio, he was turning 3200 RPM at 55MPH.

So after swapping the TH350 with the 2004R, he’s happily doing 70MPH at 2000RPM, and he’s happy to say he took a day off work to drive his car all over town.
